Self-Care & Wellbeing

Self-care is not indulgence — it’s the foundation for how we show up as mothers, partners, colleagues, and leaders. And yet, it’s one of the hardest things to prioritise.

For me, this is still very much a learning curve. As an introvert, I’ve always found social health the most challenging. I know the improvements I need to make, and I’m working on them. It isn’t easy, but it’s progress. The truth is: building time for mental, physical, and social health is never wasted. It’s what gives us the resilience to keep going in all the other areas of life.

📖 A Book to Explore: Social Health by K.K.

In Social Health, K.K. highlights how our wellbeing is built not only on our mental and physical state, but also on our ability to connect with others. The book reminds us that health isn’t just individual — it’s relational. As someone who often finds social energy draining, this perspective helped me see the value of investing in social connections, even in small steps.

🧠 Mental Health

It can feel overwhelming to add “self-care” to an already full plate, so my advice is: start small.

  • Spend 2–5 minutes using a meditation app.
  • Visit your favourite places of reflection (like the landscapes I share on my homepage).
  • Give yourself permission to pause.
💪 Physical Health

You don’t need a full fitness programme to feel the benefits.

  • Commit to a 30-minute walk every three days.
  • When you’re ready, increase gradually — but keep the habit realistic.
  • Think of it not as exercise, but as resilience-building.
🤝 Social Health

As an introvert, I know this can feel daunting. But connection is vital.

  • Reach out to a friend, even with a simple message.
  • Say yes to one event or coffee chat you might normally decline.
  • Remember: social health isn’t about quantity, it’s about quality connections.

✨ Taking time for your wellbeing isn’t selfish — it’s what enables you to show up as the best version of yourself in every role you hold.

Start small, be kind to yourself, and remember: every step forward counts.

Welcome to My Reflections!

This space brings together the ideas, learning and reflections that continue to shape me as a leader, a learner and a working mother.

The intention behind this space is simple: to offer reassurance, perspective and practical insight, and to remind you that growth doesn’t happen all at once. Progress is built step by step — and it’s often stronger when we learn, reflect and grow together.
