Events & Networking

On this page, I’ve summarised some of the best tools and organisations you can use to find events that match your needs—whether that’s developing professionally, meeting people in London, or getting support as a mum returning to work. I know from experience that, as an introvert, it can feel stressful to step into a room full of new faces, but networking is such a key part of personal and professional success. That’s why I’ve pulled these resources together, along with a few practical tips at the end, to help you make the most of them.

Tips to get the most from events

1️⃣ Be intentional: set one learning goal and one networking goal before you go.

2️⃣ Arrive early: the best conversations often happen just before and right after sessions.

3️⃣ Follow up within 24–48 hrs: a short message on LinkedIn with a specific memory from your chat goes a long way.

🕣 Make time for it: the biggest barrier is often time. Add a monthly or quarterly reminder in your calendar to research upcoming events and block time to attend them, just as you would for an important meeting.

✍️ Prepare like an interview (but lighter): review the event agenda, check the speakers, and think of two or three questions or topics you’d like to discuss. You don’t need to be formal, but a little preparation makes it easier to start conversations.

Welcome to My Reflections!

This space brings together the ideas, learning and reflections that continue to shape me as a leader, a learner and a working mother.

The intention behind this space is simple: to offer reassurance, perspective and practical insight, and to remind you that growth doesn’t happen all at once. Progress is built step by step — and it’s often stronger when we learn, reflect and grow together.
